This presentation is part of the conference Teachers across Borders: Global Classrooms and highlights the importance of repetition as a means of acquiring the muscle memory, the vocabulary, and the grammatical structures necessary to successfully produce impromptu oral language.
Kerri Galloway is a Spanish teacher at a high school in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA and she is National Board Certified. She has taught Spanish at Montgomery Blair High School for 21 years. She currently teaches Spanish 2 and 3. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from Rutgers University. She spent her junior year abroad in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico studying at the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan. She has a Master’s degree in Hispanic Linguistics from the Ohio State University.
She is in Curitiba to learn Portuguese with the IPAST (Intensive Portuguese Abroad for Spanish Teachers) at CELIN – UFPR and she is part of the language teacher education course offered by the university project Teachers across Borders UFPR.
